This residence is located in the mountains of North Carolina, where primitive local crafts are a trademark. Its plaid fabric represents a country look, and the rugs are made of rags by a local craftsman. All the art is primitive in style, furniture is either antique or reproduction, and windows feature cottage shutters instead of drapes to keep the style simple.

Living room, Annandale, VA

This "adult" living room could have been more formal, but the clients wanted it to be livable. The recreation room for the kids is down a staircase, and this room's goal was to be easy, casual, and adult. The homeowner wanted to display his ship model, and work with the colors in an Oriental rug. The navy blue and persimmon colors Webel selected were a perfect blend.

Dining Room, Annandale, VA

This dining room is off an "adult" living room. The clients chose to use a console cabinet they owned, and wanted to update the surrounding design elements. Nine beveled mirrors hung over the console offered an alternative to a painting, and upbeat sunflowers offset a traditional look. The walls feature an almond and ivory vertical stripe above the chair rail, with a navy paint below.
